RCI’s Joseph Slavin Serves as Mentor for Tech Transfer Businesses
Philadelphia, PA, March 30, 2016 - Joseph Slavin, Senior Project Manager- Custom Services at Richman Chemical Inc, recently served as an industry mentor for the New Mexico State University Arrowhead Center’s Launch program. Launch is the Center’s proof of concept initiative, which strives to accelerate the transfer of specific technologies from concept to market over a four-month period via direct business mentorship, market analysis, cash investment, and access to investment networks. Such technologies emanate from within the New Mexico State University community.
As a mentor, Slavin’s advised participants of the Launch technology validation and product strategy, growth and metrics, and investor pitches. Slavin further mentored two of the finalist companies on an in-depth basis. As a result of the collaborative effort, these companies were awarded significant marketing resources from the university, including logo creation, promotional materials, and extensive market research. In addition, the awardees gained unlimited access to the Center’s extensive network of business development specialists, peer inventors and researchers, successful entrepreneur symposia, workshops, and networking events. Previous Launch awardees have filed ten U.S. patent applications and started-up five new small business enterprises.
